I remember hearing the news on the radio, crying and calling a friend who instantly started crying when I told her. (We were both adoptive families also.) But I'm particularly grateful for teh way that the Chapman's responded to Maria's death. His album, Beauty Will Rise, has been of GREAT comfort to me after we experienced several deaths in our family in a very short time period. Many truths that the Chapmans shared comforted my own heart and reminded me that God is sovereign and He is good (and He knows best!)

An awesome book, to be sure, and I'm so glad to hear your Chapman Experience as well!Carriehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08772667430500306088noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5285189315308720995.post-83538057876190303582011-07-21T19:49:31.377-04:002011-07-21T19:49:31.377-04:00I'm adding this to my goodreads list ASAP!I'm adding this to my goodreads list ASAP!Birdhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03660333531859005245noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5285189315308720995.post-84952950857356424872011-07-21T11:51:49.936-04:002011-07-21T11:51:49.936-04:00I read this book a couple of months ago and it was...I read this book a couple of months ago and it was life changing. One of my dear friend's adopted children came from the same province as Maria and she gave me the book. I was inspired and moved beyond belief. What an amazing thing to meet him and for this to come full circle for you. God is pretty cool, huh? :-)

So glad to be getting to know you through the crew, Heidi.Mary Pratherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13061111766665395897noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5285189315308720995.post-29634881527251131572011-07-21T10:01:09.915-04:002011-07-21T10:01:09.915-04:00So neat that you got to meet him. When we were going through our own adoption journey, he was an inspiration. We had a few failed adoption attempts (domestic & international) and eventually were blessed with children by birth, but I still hold adoption and Show Hope very dear to my heart.

I'd like to read this book, but I imagine it would be difficult to read through the tears! I've heard Steven and Mary Beth on radio interviews many times and I have a deep respect for their faith and their obvious love for each other.

I can remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when I heard the news on KLove about Maria Sue. So heartbreaking, yet we "grieve with hope because we know our good-byes are not the end." The Chapman family are powerful witnesses for Christ!Sara @ Embracing Destinyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00185927273922194788noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5285189315308720995.post-64738422761416150472011-07-21T09:29:08.421-04:002011-07-21T09:29:08.421-04:00I remember so well the moment we heard about this ...I remember so well the moment we heard about this tragedy. I admire them for how public they have been with their grief and healing and know they have helped many people. I'd like to read this book, although I'm afraid it might be hard to get through!Debbiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14952931228489764783noreply@blogger.com
