From Blah To Awe by Jenna Lucado Bishop

Last spring, my daughter Ashley and I were blessed to be able to attend the Revolve Tour. Jenna Lucado  Bishop is one of the featured speakers on this tour, and we really enjoyed hearing her message.  Much like her father, she is a dynamic – yet very “real” – speaker.  She’s easy to relate to.  She’s friendly.  She’s fun.

So, when the opportunity presented itself to preview her newest book – From Blah To Awe: Shaking Up a Boring Faith – I quickly responded in the affirmative.  Here’s a bit about this new book and its author:

BlahtoAweCover (3)Jenna Lucado Bishop shares an exciting new message for girls in her upcoming book, From Blah To Awe: Shaking Up a Boring Faith.  This nonfiction book offers teen girls insight in how to walk daily with God in a passionate way.  With personal testimony and stories from other teens, Jenna shows girls that a relationship with God is not boring and blah-filled, but an incredible adventure.

“The goal of this book is to shake you up a little,” shares Jenna. “No matter where you are in your faith journey—whether you are new to this God thing or you have known what a relationship with Jesus is like your entire life—when you finish this book, I want you to stop settling. Stop settling for a faith that is dull, boring, blah. So many of us get stuck in a lifeless faith and just stay there, thinking that this is what life with God is about. No! God wants more for us!”

In From Blah To Awe, Jenna uses a conversational style in which teens are able to relate. Jenna also encourages her audience to become active readers who participate in the spiritual disciplines listed throughout the novel. As they read the book, teens have multiple opportunities each chapter to reflect on their own experiences to discover that they actually play a very active role in God’s amazing story for their lives.

LucadoJenna (3)Daughter of best-selling author Max Lucado, Jenna Lucado Bishop has realized that she has a passion for writing and speaking just like her dad. She is currently a part of the Revolve Tour, an event for teen girls that includes Christian artists like Hawk Nelson, Chad Eastham, and many more.

Ashley walked off with the book the minute it arrived on our doorstep.  She’s still working her way through it.  I know that she’s finding it challenging and exciting at the same time.

I am always looking for a new book to share with Hayley. As she is just tuning 16, sometime it's good to have something to read other than the thoughts from mom.

Well, for one -- I'd love the book as a reminder of last spring when I got to meet YOU and Ashley :) But I also think M. might now enjoy it and find it enriching to her walk with God :)
