30 Day Blog Challenge: Day 2

Today’s Topic = Meaning Behind Your Blog Name

I first started a blog at HSB, I think, back in 2005.  It was called Heidi Homeschools.  I started it to talk about our homeschooling journey, but ended up talking about so much more than that.  I ended up closing that blog at the end of 2006, not long after we got home from Vietnam (on our adoption trip for Ian).  When I decided that I missed blogging, I opened a new blog – again at HSB.  The plan was to stay away from the personal stuff and mostly share reviews – as my reviewing was becoming a big thing in my life – so that blog was called Reviews by Heidi.  Of course, I didn’t last long staying away from the personal stuff – and that blog soon became a “catch-all” blog as well.

Around the  beginning of 2010, I decided that it was time for a change.  I had experienced SO MUCH last year and just wanted some new and FUN things in my life.  So, I created this new blog.  I wanted it to still contain the reviews that I’m hoping, by now, my readers have come to both expect and trust.  But, I also wanted it to be a reflection of me as a person, mother, homeschooler, etc.  So, the word “reflections” was added to the name, along with a Bible verse that I appreciate and love.

So, that’s why my blog is called Reviews & Reflections!

I try really hard to keep it a pretty clear reflection of me as a person, though I don’t always have the time (or energy) for a lot of personal posts.  That’s one of the reasons I was excited to see the 30 Day Blog Challenge!  If you’d like to read more entries in the 30 Day Blog Challenge, click over to Katie’s blog.
