Friday's Fave Five #127

fff winter button

It’s been a few months since I’ve taken the time to participate in Friday’s Fave Five.  I missed it!  If you’d like to participate by sharing your favorite things (blessings) about this past week, just click on the  button above.

(one) We have had warmer weather here this week and it’s  been WONDERFUL!  I know it won’t last – that would be too good to be true – but it’s a nice reminder that spring REALLY IS COMING.

(two) We’ve been having a lot of problems with our van (I shared on FB and may blog about it later).  I’m not thrilled about the choices we are left with – either buy something new or sock a ton of money into an old(er) van.  But, thankfully my parents live right up the street from us and have 3 vehicles.  So, on those days when we need to get out and go somewhere, we have access to an extra car.  In other words, I’m thankful that we don’t have to make a rush decision and jump into something that might not  be the best for us right now.

(three) Ian was sick with the flu this week, but it could have been SO MUCH worse.  He really didn’t have a severe case of it; and, so far, none of the rest of us got it.  (Knock on wood!)

(four) Ashley and I have  both been having headaches this week.  I’m not sure if they are sinus-related or due to the fact that we’re overdue for eye exams.  In any case, I’m  thankful that we homeschool and are able to work around times when one or more of us aren’t feeling well.  We’ve been able to get plenty of schoolwork done this week, just not always during “regular” school hours.

(five) I got a most encouraging, though humbling, e-mail this week, thanking me for being myself on my blog and sharing how my blog has touched this person’s life.  Wow!  Sometimes I think we (bloggers) forget that there are people reading our blogs – people that we don’t even know  - but we are making an impact.  It rather reminds me of the Prayer of Jabez --- through blogging, we are expanding our territories.  But, are we doing so in a way that is pleasing and honoring to God?  Something to think about.
