It’s almost spring! Just a few more days until the “official” first day of spring (which just so happens to be my birthday). One of my favorite things about spring is seeing the buds and green leaves sprouting out on the trees, and the flowers starting to pop open. Adding a little color to our lives is always so exciting!
Something that I have always wanted to attend is the Flower & Garden Festival at EPCOT. Last year, we just missed it by a few weeks ( but we did see some of the “leftovers” – pictures at the end of this post).
This year’s Flower & Garden Festival is being held from March 2nd through May 15th. This year, we’ll miss it by a mere few days! Ugh!
Here’s what the Disney Website has to say about this fun event:
The Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival is a spring special event filled with a colorful array of flowers, gardens, topiaries, live music and educational events.
You don't have to be a gardening expert to love this event. It's perfect for Guests of all ages who enjoy the beauty of mother nature! See millions of blooming flowers and a vibrant collection of Disney-themed topiaries, and get up close with hundreds of colorful butterflies inside Bambi's Magnificent Butterfly Garden. On the weekends, meet with top horticulturists at one of the many Garden Town Programs and learn helpful gardening tips, and be sure to attend public demonstrations of advanced gardening techniques from around the world.
On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays during the festival, finish off the day with a melodious evening at the America Gardens Theatre adjacent to the American Adventure Pavilion and enjoy music from the 1960s and 1970s during the Flower Power Concert Series.
Plus, you can bring some of the magic back home with you—you'll find plenty of gardening tools and products to help you grow and maintain the perfect garden.
That sounds WONDERFUL to me! I found more interesting information about this event at AllEars.Net and the DIS. LOTS and LOTS of fun stuff planned. Wish I could be there!
What about you? Would you, too, enjoy visiting the Flower & Garden Festival? Or maybe you’ve already attended it a time or two or seven – if so, we want to see your pictures and hear all about your experiences. If you’ve never been, check out some of the links shared in this post and let me know what appeals to you about this Festival. Or share your favorite pictures of other Disney floral and garden creations (those character topiaries are my favorites!)

We enjoyed seeing these character topiaries at EPCOT last May (we missed the actual event, but these were still on display, thankfully):
(Sleeping Beauty/Aurora & Prince Phillip)
(Cinderella & Prince Charming)
(Chip, Mrs. Potts, and Cogsworth)

I would love to see the topiaries! We did see some of them on our last trip to Disney but I don't remember if it was part of the festival- if so I don't remember noticing. :( Too many things to take in at once I suppose!
We were there for the leftovers too, in May of 08.. Love your pics! I just love the way Disney gardens!
The Garden Festival is wonderful. We saw the end of it in 2006 but in 2009 we saw the whole thing. It was so beautiful. So happy I will see it again very soon :)
