Garage Sale Treasures

One of my Crew mates shares about her wonderful garage sales treasures every week.  I used to go to yard/garage sales a lot when Ashley was little.  90% of her clothes came from yard sales.  Over the years, though, I’ve gotten away from yard sales.  One reason is because I no longer subscribe to the paper (I was pretty particular about watching for sizes, etc. at yard sales and only going to ones that I knew had things I needed or could use).  Another is because I learned to appreciate thrift and consignment shops.

Today, though, my mom and I decided to go out and check some local yard sales.  There seemed to be a lot of signs posted in town, and we had some spare time on our hands.  (Well, the truth of the matter is that I was stressing over trying to get my blog back into some semblance of order, and really relished the time away from it!  Don’t judge me!)

Most of the yard sales didn’t yield many treasures – a pair of jeans and a shirt/dress for Gracie and 4 pairs of boxers for Ian.  But, the first one was a gold mine!  Here are some of the treasures we found:

A Hooked on Phonics game for Ian
New in the box (with shrink wrap) - $1
You can buy it on Amazon for $17.69

51BFZQAFW8L._SL500_AA300_
Quizard the Learning Wizard for Ian - $1
I had never seen this before, but it came with 2 of the extra card packs
(dinosaurs and transportation)

A Webkinz Mouse Pad – 25 cents
(of course, we didn’t NEED this, but I knew Gracie and Ian would enjoy it!)

Leap Frog Turbo Twist Spelling - $1

And a Dixie Chicks cd for Ashley for 50 cents

I love it when people price their things to sell!  I just might have to reconsider yard sales again.  This morning’s run was pretty fun.  Ian and I have been enjoying playing with his new goodies (well, except for when I had to do a goofy dance playing the phonics game!)

I’m linking up to Garage Sale Treasures.  If you’ve gotten some great yard sale deals recently, how about sharing them?

Love the new design!! Your hard work (and Betty's) and patience have really paid off.

I wish I could get going early enough to go to yard and garage sales. Might need to put that in a plan one week soon.

Oh that was a great sale you found! Love the HOP game! I dont know about your local paper, but ours lists all the yard sales online! I just put in the search I want (day and key words) and then print off the sales that fall into my wants. Saves the money of a paper.

I love the new blog design! It looks great! I love the stars! I love yard sales. I bought most of Marissa's baby clothes at some really great yard sales while I was pregnant with her in Arkansas. I would love to be yard-saling (sp??) now, but I just don't have anywhere to put it! LOL
