Bible in 90 Days?!

Guess what came in the mail the other day?  The Bible in 90 Days! I had seen a bit about reading through the Bible in 90 Days on some other friends’ blogs in the past, but it wasn’t until I saw it on Wendy’s blog that I thought “hey, I need to do that!”

I’ve tried reading through the Bible in a year several times in the past.  I’m ashamed to admit that I’ve never followed through with it.  I’ve even made up both of the Bible in a Year schedules for the Schoolhouse Planner, yet I have been remiss to follow either of them (hanging my head in shame).  I’m so proud of Ashley for committing to it last year, and following through.  Now, I need to do the same.

Bible in 90 Days- join in July 2010
So, starting on July 5th, I’m going to begin reading through the Bible – not in a year – but in 90 DAYS!  I’m going to commit to getting up early each morning and spending 45 minutes to an hour in the Word.  With the 90 Day NIV Bible, it should be easy – only approximately 12 pages to read each day.  I’m looking forward to sharing in this journey with others and to seeing what God would have to teach me  throughout this time.

If you’ve already read through your Bible using this method, I’d love to hear about your experience.  If you’d like to join in on the fun, please click on the button to find out how.

Throughout the coming weeks, I hope to post (at least weekly) about my progress.  I hope you’ll follow along with me!

I just did the Bible in 90 Days earlier this year. It is challenging but very doable. In fact, I think it makes it easier to get through some of the harder books because you read them faster. For example, reading Numbers one chapter a day makes it easy to get bogged down. With this it just flew by.

BTW, I'll be happy to link up your Flashback for you tomorrow.

The first time I read the bible through as a kid it took me years.

I have done the yearly plan before since then and that works.

The 90 plan looks great, but I'm currently on 3 yearly plans... 1) The entire bible in a year, 2) The new testament in a year and 3) The Main points in a year (so it skips the "begats" chapters etc and follows the story parts more)

Meaning a year from when I started (January) I'll have read the NT twice, the full thing once, and the "story" parts one more time on top of that.)

I heard of the 90 challenge after I had started this, and think it would be too much to get on that one as well, so I'm going to wait until the year is up.
