Not only am I shiny, but beautiful too?!

I am blessed.  Beyond measure, really.  I’m living proof of the sayings “When God closes a door, He opens a window”, and “good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over”.  I might have lost my best friend this past year, but God has blessed me abundantly with so many wonderful friends (most of which have  been a direct result of my job).  Sometimes I just truly feel overwhelmed.

Anyway, as if being shiny weren’t enough, my sweet friend Michelle from over at A Life Better Than I Deserve as awarded me with the Beautiful Blogger Award.  She said that I have a beautiful blog AND a beautiful character.  Isn’t that the sweetest?!  Well, Michelle, I think you’re beautiful too, my friend!

I can’t possibly pick 7 friends to award – so I’m doing the usual and saying IF YOU READ THIS, YOU’RE AWARDED!  And 7 more random things?  Gee, I just posted 14 a few minutes ago and I’m not that interesting!  Let’s see . . .

  1. I’m the Co-Creator of the Schoolhouse Planner – an e-product from The Old Schoolhouse® Magazine, that is in its 3rd edition.  And, if that’s not enough, we will be releasing a new line of Student Planners next month (which are available for pre-sale at the Schoolhouse Store right now – at some awesome savings!)  So, check them out!  Yes, I create planners – that might be because I’m a major planning freak.  Just sayin’ . . .
  2. I’m the Captain of the Homeschool Crew.  I never pictured myself as leader of much of anything (besides my kids) – now here I am steering a team of 250 people all over unchartered homeschool waters.  And, guess what?!  I LOVE IT!
  3. I have never been a fan of unit studies.  And do you want to know what’s funny about that?  I’m coordinating the production of a new line of unit studies for TOS that is TOP OF THE LINE.  I’m so not saying that because it’s my project either.  Let me tell you, when we release these puppies in a few short weeks, you’re going to come back here and tell me I was right about them – amazing stuff people!  You’ll see!
  4. I used to be really shy and I still can’t figure out why people don’t believe me when I try to tell them that.  It’s true.  Ask my mom.  (And the truth is, I still kinda am!)
  5. I don’t like talking about finances.  It depresses me, even if it’s not depressing.
  6. I love getting mail.  As a teenager, I had at least 5 pen-pals at any given time.  One used to send me letters on wallpaper samples.  Go figure!
  7. I hate tomatoes, but I could drink spaghetti or pizza sauce out of the jar.  Funny, though, when I was pregnant, it was one of the first things that turned me.

I'm laughing because I also had tons of pen pals from about age 8 through till age 19! I loved writing to friends in other states, and even other countries. ;0)

I'm the same way with tomatoes and pizza/spaghetti sauce! What's up with that? However, I could not eat pizza during my pregnancies (even though it's a favorite food) because it always made me sick.
