30 Day Blog Challenge: Day 8

Today’s Topic = A Place You’ve Traveled To

Florida 2010 091 If you’ve been hanging out at my blog for any length of time whatsoever, you’ve probably figured out that my all-time favorite place to travel to is this one ===>

I can’t help it.  I’m addicted!  It’s like going home every time I am reunited with my pal Mickey Mouse.

When I was 5 years old, my family went on a very special adventure  - - - my dad worked for the Olivetti Corporation at the time and had to go on an extended business trip to Italy and my mom and I got to go along.  5 months in Italy – with weekend trips to France, Switzerland, Austria, etc.  I can still taste the pizza and, let me tell you, we just don’t have true, authentic Italian pizza here in the US (at least, I have yet to find it).

Ian Adoption 126 Twice now, I have had the amazing opportunity to travel to Vietnam.  What an incredible country it is – words cannot even begin to describe how different it is from here.  You have to experience the sights, sounds, and smells of Vietnam to fully appreciate it.  I hope to one day have the chance to travel back with the kids and reintroduce them to this county that is their heritage.

Copy of Williamsburg trip 2010 051 Another favorite that I’d be remiss to leave out is Williamsburg, VA.  I love history and anyplace that is so rich in hands-on history is a great place to travel, in my opinion.  We love it here!  There is just so much to see and do that I wish we could go for an extended time period sometime so we can take it all in.

We’ve been other places to – like Ocean City, New Jersey (we used to make annual trips here); Petoskey, Michigan (which is beautiful!); various parts of Ohio and New York, and Tennessee.  I’ve never been out west,  though I hope to make it out that direction some day.  There’s just so much to see in this wide world!

Sadly, Williamsburg was the setting for one of the most difficult weeks of my life. I'd love to go back there sometime with my immediate family, and "make it right" :) I think a trip to Italy and France would be amazing. And I'm with you...I LOVE Disneyworld :)
