Presto FlipSide Belgian Waffle Maker

When we take trips, we always try to stay in hotels that have a continental breakfast.  We’re really not big breakfast eaters, but if we stay somewhere that provides breakfast, we can fill up on that (for free) and get away with a very light lunch/snack while doing whatever it is we’re doing throughout the day.  It’s always a special treat when we stay somewhere that has a Belgian waffle maker.

FlipSide Belgian Waffle Maker So, when the opportunity to review another product from CSN Stores came along, we looked through several of their many stores, and found this ===>

It’s the Presto FlipSide Belgian Waffle Maker and it’s so much fun!  The instruction manual came complete with several recipes in the back.  So far, we’ve only tried the basic waffle recipe – we’ve had them 3 times – and we’ve enjoyed them very much.  The batter is simple to mix up, using ingredients that are readily available in the house.  The surface of the machine is non-stick (the directions say to prime it with oil or cooking spray the first time – but I’ve had to apply it several times now in order to prevent sticking – but nothing drastic).  So far, we’ve only eaten our waffles with syrup, but I’d like to try adding whipped topping and fruit sometime soon.

fall2010 057 The process is quite simple:

  • Mix batter
  • Pour 1 cup batter into the center of the griddle
  • Set timer to 4 minutes
  • Close griddle & flip
  • Open when timer beeps and remove waffle
  • Eat!

fall2010 056 One of my personal favorite features about this product is the fact that you can store it in an upright position.  I don’t have a lot of extra storage space; and, for that reason, tend to shy away from purchasing “extra” type appliances like this.  This slips right alongside some other things in my cupboard and takes up very little space.

I’m sure we’ll get lots of use out of this waffle maker over the months and years to come.  At a price of only $39.95, it’s worth having the waffle novelty at home!  I’d recommend this product, as well as checking out CSN Stores for all your purchasing needs – if you can think of it, chances are they probably have it!

NOTE: I purchased this waffle maker using a store  credit that I received from CSN stores.  No other compensation was received, and the thoughts herein are from my own personal experience using the appliance.

Is it easy to clean? I had a waffle maker once, but stopped using it and eventually got rid of it because it was such a pain to clean. I wonder sometimes if perhaps we were using to much batter which made it seep out the sides?

But we love waffles and like you always enjoyed those hotel contintental breakfasts that had the cool flippy waffle irons!

This one looks really nice. We used to have a Belgian waffle maker, but it finally broke. Now I'm wondering if we need a new one! Nice review:) Yummy!

I'm with Melissa- is it easy to clean? We have one that my grandmother gave me that comes out maybe once or twice a year. No joke. We love waffles (apple oatmeal- yumm!) but I hate cleaning it! It is an older one (perhaps from the late 70s, early to mid 80s) and it isn't very user friendly lol
This one looks like very nice. The color would go well with my other kitchen appliances also :)
