Our Sallie thinks she owns our street. We live along a pretty busy one and every single person that walks by our house was getting barked at for being here. It was very annoying.
She also had the annoying habit of running out (along said busy street) every time we opened the front door.
So, we needed to fun a humane way of training her more efficiently. We considered a shocker collar – but have you priced those things?! Plus, they just seemed kinda mean to me. :)
My mom found this Pet Corrector at the pet store and we figured it was worth a try. Guess what? It worked. Basically, it’s a can of air. It makes a loud swishing noise when you press down on it. Sallie hates it – and it didn’t take her long to figure out that it was used when she was bad.
We had to resurrect the can when Lizzie joined the family. “The girls” can get caught up in some pretty wild fighting frenzies. “The can” (as it has affectionately come to be known) is very effective at breaking up these fights. Unfortunately, the can is empty. We need to go and buy Can #2.

When our dog was little we tried things like spraying her with water when she did something wrong or spraying that sour stuff in her mouth when she bit (I think she liked it).
Ok, I HAVE to get this for our little Petey. He sits in his chair and looks out the window and barks at everything and everyone that goes by..all..day...long! LOL! It drives us all crazy. He is also the one that I have been seen chasing down the street after him in my PJs. He tried to pull a little escape on us when we got home this morning, but Lil David dodged him, and saved the day! LOL! I love the pic of you and Sallie. You both look so cute!
