2010 Gratitude Challenge – November 2

2010GratitudeChallengeButton Today is the day we are called to vote.  Though it’s certainly not my favorite thing to do, I do it because I believe it’s my duty.  I think that today, because this is fresh on our minds, a lot of people are thankful for our nation.

This post is not to say that I am NOT thankful for the nation that we live in – I am.  Sometimes I just get really disgusted with it though.  And having spent time in a foreign country where people think “America is #1”, I just find it sad that America really doesn’t live up to these expectations.

So today, very much in relation to yesterday’s post, I am thankful for Vietnam.  I’m especially thankful that, during the times when we were pursuing our adoptions, Vietnam was open to American adoptions, and both of our adoption processes went so smoothly.  Vietnam is an amazingly beautiful country – and one that I hope we have opportunity to visit again one day in the future.

I'm thankful for Vietnam, too - because you have such a beautiful family.

I think there is beauty in many different countries. While I am very grateful for the freedoms that we enjoy here, I do believe we can learn much from those in foreign lands.

It's wonderful that you were able to open your arms to your beautiful children. I'm glad that things went smoothly. You have a lovely family. :)

I'm thankful for Vietnam too. And, I'm thankful for Ian and Gracie because they came from Vietnam, and we are so blessed to have them for friends, (and you and Ashley too of course!)
