Yesterday, I snuck up to my bedroom and sorted through the Christmas gifts. I separated them into piles – one per child – and made other piles for family gift exchanges, teacher gifts, etc. We have a very small list of items we need to buy yet – but, for the most part, we’re all done with our shopping.
Ordinarily, I prefer to be done shopping BEFORE Thanksgiving, but that hasn’t happened the past 2 years.
Ordinarily, I keep a little notebook with me throughout the holiday season and write down what I’m purchasing for everyone on our list and how much is costs me, but that didn’t happen this year.
Ordinarily, I buy a new roll of wrapping paper for each child and wrap all their gifts with that special wrap (no need for gift tags that way), but that hasn’t happened yet this year (we may use old wrapping paper!)
Gee, I’m sounding really unorganized. But, I am pleased with our gift purchases. I think the kids will be pleased as well. :)

I prefer to have my shopping done before December, but that hasn't happened this year. Wrapping paper? Well, I think that I have that covered. Christmas cards? Uh, well... You don't sound unorganized. Just normal. lol!
Then again, you do have a little bit going on in your life right now. ;)
I like to have my shopping done before December too, but I surely didn't make that goal this year! We, like you, have most of our shopping done, but there are still a few gifts we still need to buy.
Several years ago we started wrapping the kids' gifts and putting numbers on the bottom of each one (and no names on them). Then we keep the list someplace where the kids won't find it. The list has the numbers along with what the gift is and who it's for. This way, the kids can't guess so easily what they're getting since they don't know which present is for which kid! :) It also adds a little to the fun and excitement.
I hadn't ever thought of using different paper for each child. That's a good idea for another way to handle it too.
Christmas is getting closer. Better finish up that shopping!
