The Destination Disney topic this week was CHARACTER MEALS. I read what the participants had to say, and finally decided which meals we’re going to try on our next trip. Wanna know what we picked?
It was hard to choose. We were really tempted to go back to Akershus in Norway for the Princess Breakfast there. And, we were really thinking we’d try Chef Mickey’s at the Contemporary this time too ( but the things I’ve been reading about it really haven’t been that positive). In the end, we decided on 2 totally different meals ---
We’ll be having dinner with Mickey, Pluto, Chip & Dale at the Garden Grill (in the Land Pavilion at EPCOT). The fact that it’s served family style appeals to me, and I’m anxious to see the characters in their “down on the farm” attire. Oh, and did I mention that the restaurant rotates while you’re eating and you can look down upon the Living with the Land ride? (Have I mentioned it’s an old favorite of mine?)
Then, later in the week, we have a breakfast date with Minnie, Goofy, and Donald at the Cape May Cafe in the Beach Club Resort. (This picture is actually the Boardwalk Resort, taken from the Beach Club.) I figure this way we get to meet both Mickey and Minnie and we don’t have to wait in lines to do so. The fact that they are dressed and ready for a day at the beach just makes it even more fun – and will help get us in the mood for our week at the “real” beach, with will follow in June. I’m just hoping and praying the have the same amazing strawberries and pineapple that we at in Norway at breakfast (crossing my fingers!)
So, be sure to check back later this year – I’m sure I’ll have pictures to share from these meals. :)

Someone asked if I could post a schedule of upcoming Destination Disney posts. Apparently, I’m not the only one obsessing about Disney and wanting to plan ahead. So, here is what you have to look forward to over the next few weeks:
Jan. 28th – Unique Disney Photos (think perspective or things people don’t normally take pictures of)
Feb. 4th – Disney World’s 40th Anniversary & your favorite Disney souvenirs
Feb. 11th – Castle pictures (I know you have them!)
Feb. 18th – World Showcase at EPCOT
I’ll post these topics on Fridays, but that doesn’t mean you have to play along that day. I’m actually leaving the linkies open for a full month, so you have plenty of time to get those posts up. If you could try to post that week, though, before another topic goes up, that’s great! It’ll definitely get you (and your blog) more exposure.
Oh, and the linkies are set up as blog hops. That means, if you want to share the links on your posts, you can. Just click below the photos, where it says “Get the code” and you’re all set!

I love your choices.. I would really like to do the Cape May Cafe Breakfast when we go back. I love Cape May and the beachy/boardwalk theme, no surprise there, I guess! I don't know if I could handle the restaurant turning while I'm eating at the Garden Grill though...lol.. but it does sound interesting! Ok, now I have to go look for some unique photos for my post this week! Great post, Heidi, I loved it!
