Playing along with Wednesday HodgePodge

. . . because I want to blog, but can’t think what I want to blog about!

1. Will you watch the Super Bowl? If so who will you root for? If you are outside the USA what is the 'big deal sporting event' in your own country?

Only if friends invite us over for the “big game”.  I’m not really into football (or any sport, for that matter), but Brian enjoys watching.  We don’t have cable service, so can’t watch it from home.

2. Is ignorance bliss?

I don’t think so.  I don’t like the thought of being ignorant about something.  I like to be “in the know”, so to speak.

3. Which of the seven dwarfs are you? (and just in case your Disney is a little bit rusty, here they are-Bashful, Doc, Dopey, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, and Sneezy)

Sleepy1 As a mom who stays at home and homeschools my kids while working a part time job (from home), I can see myself as any one of these dwarves, depending on the day or situation!  Lately, with the cold days of winter here in PA, I find myself really relating with Sleepy – I just want to stay snuggled in my warm, toasty bed until --- SPRING!

4. When you are riding in the car with another couple how do you organize the seating? (Men up front? Women up front? Couples sit together?) And thanks to Lori at Mountain Woman at Heart for the question! Everyone go say hi to Lori.

The answer to this question depends upon who we are with.  I think it depends on the level of closeness.  For example, when we used to go out with my best  friend and her hubby, we’d always put men in the front, women in the back.  But, if I was going out with someone I wasn’t as close to, we’d probably sit as couples.

5. What is beauty?

Here’s what dictionary.com says:
–noun, plural -ties.
1. the quality present in a thing or person that gives intense pleasure or deep satisfaction to the mind, whether arising from sensory manifestations (as shape, color, sound, etc.), a meaningful design or pattern, or something else (as a personality in which high spiritual qualities are manifest).
2. a beautiful person, esp. a woman.
3. a beautiful thing, as a work of art or a building.
4. Often, beauties. something that is beautiful in nature or in some natural or artificial environment.
5. an individually pleasing or beautiful quality; grace; charm: a vivid blue area that is the one real beauty of the painting.
6. Informal . a particular advantage: One of the beauties of this medicine is the freedom from aftereffects.
7.(usually used ironically) something extraordinary: My sunburn was a real beauty.
8. something excellent of its kind: My old car was a beauty.

To me, I think it’s most like #5 – more of a quality thing than a surface (appearance) thing.  Someone may appear beautiful to the eye; then you get to know that person and find they are actually not that beautiful on the inside, which tampers your thoughts about the outside.

6. If someone asks you to bring an appetizer or a dessert to a party in their home, which would you choose?

Appetizer – I like them better!

7. What is your crowd pleasing go-to appetizer?

Either a dip or a cheeseball.  Love them both!

8. Insert your own random thought here.

I’ve got lots of them, which to choose ???

We are now officially 1/2 way through our school year – as far as days and textbooks (counting field trips, we’re way beyond 1/2 way).

I enjoyed reading your answers! You know we will be watching the Super Bowl...Big Steelers fans here, LOL! Because we didn't have TV last weekend, we listened to the game on the radio, we are that silly. But we will get to watch the game at my dad's next weekend. :) I would probably say I was Sleepy too. And, I agree with everything else you wrote about, of course!

I agree with you on the car question...but for us it also depends on the size of the car. My Brian is a big guy - a little over 6ft - so there are times when he can't ride in the back because he needs the extra head and leg room!
