Wednesday Hodgepodge - Vol 18 ~ It’s Your Lucky Day!

1. What would you do if you found a pot of gold? Let's pretend this pot of gold is worth exactly $1500 (which would actually be more like a cup of gold at current values). Anyway, let's also pretend you have to spend it as opposed to making a donation someplace. Now tell me what you would do with that cup pot of gold?

I’d love to be like my bloggy friend Cathy and say that I’d use it to take my family to Disney World.  But, I feel the need to be practical – so I’ll use it for a down payment for the van I’m going to pick up this Saturday.

2. Do you celebrate St. Patrick's Day in any way, shape, or form?

Not as a general rule.  Though, in the past, Gracie’s been known to plan “green food day” and do some entertaining (inviting my parents for supper, etc.)

I was actually due to be born on St. Patrick’s Day.  Thankfully, I held off and arrived 3 days later --- on the FIRST DAY OF SPRING!

3. Have you been bitten by the Spring Cleaning bug? What spring cleaning job most needs doing at your house? What spring cleaning job are you most dreading?

No.  Unfortunately, I never am!  LOL

We live along a fairly busy road, so our windows need cleaned pretty desperately.

Things seem so cluttered here lately – so that’s my main focus over the next several days/weeks.

4. lime-shamrock-sage-forest...your favorite shade of green?

I always say that purple and green are my favorite colors.  The funny thing is, I don’t know why.  Our main bathroom is painted in shades of sage and I’ve got sage in my dining room curtains (a little) – but, other than that, no decor or clothing in green OR purple.  LOL  I think I just like those colors because they are cheery.

I love when things all start to turn various shades of bright green in the spring.  It makes me happy!

5. Thomas Jefferson once said, "I'm a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work, the more I have of it." So...do you believe in luck or do you believe we make our own luck?

I do not believe in luck.  I believe in God and His providence.

6. Monday (3/14) was Pi Day. Get it? Pi =3.14. Those math types are so clever aren't they? Since I'm not one of them tell me what's your favorite piE (the edible kind).

Well, lately we’ve been enjoying Chocolate Chip Cookie Pie.  Really, it’s too sweet, though.  Cherry Pie is probably my favorite.  Or peach.

7. That same date (3/14) happens to be the birthdate of the late physicist Albert Einstein. I bet he knew the value of Pi. So...what do you think is more important and or valuable in life... intelligence or common sense?

Definitely common sense.  Funny thing is that some of the most intelligent people I know don’t have much of it!

8. Insert your own random thought here.

Busy weekend ahead – but all fun stuff!  Friday night, Ashley and I are going with some friends from church to see Chris Tomlin in concert. I’m looking forward to that – and to hearing Louie Giglio speak!  Saturday, we’re going to pick up our new-to-us van.  Though I’m not looking forward to the payment, I have to admit that I’m really excited to have it!  Sunday is my birthday.  There’s a fellowship meal at church – so I don’t have to cook (not that I ever do on Sundays! LOL)  And Monday, my mom is taking me out to celebrate my birthday – we’re going for a nice breakfast and to the outlets for some shopping.  Hoping for nice weather!

Happy almost birthday! I'm a big fan of green, too. I'm glad you found your van.
You're right. Common sense is in seriously short supply. It makes me want to bang my head on the walls sometimes so my brain hurts from the outside, instead of the inside. LOL

Chris Tomlin is AMAZING in concert! He came to my corner of the world to do a concert on the beach, courtesy of the BP oil spill. You are in for a real treat!!!!

Happy Early Birthday!

I would buy a new car if I had an unexpected windfall right now. We should have done that instead of having this Disney trip! We've had this one for 8 years now so it's ready for replacing. St Patrick's Day is always celebrated here but only because it's my birthday! Happy birthday to you for the weekend. Hope you enjoy the concert.
