Magical Blogorail ~ Family Traditions

Blogorail Logo

Today the Magical Blogorail Orange is discussing Family Traditions at Disney.  Welcome to those of you joining me from Magical Mouse Schoolhouse and those of you who have just hopped aboard.  I am the 4th stop on our Magical Blogorail.

Hmmm . . . Family Traditions at Disney.  That seems simple enough, right?  So why am I having such a hard time finding inspiration for this topic?!

I’ve looked over our Disney albums for our last 4 trips and we’ve stayed at a different place for each trip – so lodging obviously isn’t a tradition.  We’ve had intense, totally planned out trips and those that are much less intense and more relaxed – so that’s not a tradition (though I’m thinking the more relaxed trips may become one!)

There are definitely a few things that we do on each trip, though, so I’m going to consider these things our traditions, feeling quite certain that we’ll continue to do all of them on future  trips:

We always do at least one (usually two) character meals on each trip.  It’s hard to believe that once upon a time we didn’t realize the great opportunity that these meals can be.  Now we love them so much that we can’t imagine a trip without them!  We’re hoping to one day be able to say that we’ve tried them all.

We always wait in line to meet Mickey.  I mean, we’re traveling all that way to visit with him, so we need to have our picture taken with him, right?!  (I thought that this year, since we were meeting him at a character meal, that would be good enough – but when it came down to it, we stood in line anyway! LOL)

We always take pictures of the castle, because you can never have too many pictures of the castle, right?

I’m sure there are many, many more of these “must do every trip” type things, but I don’t want to bore you!  I will end with this one – because, though it’s not necessarily Disney-related, it is for us.  We always stop at the Florida Welcome Center for orange juice!

Fun, fun, fun! We almost always road-trip it, but we've never stopped for orange juice. We'll have to add that to our tradition list! Nice pics of the the Castle!

These are great traditions! I especially like the one about stopping for orange juice! Character meals are a blast and we always have to book at least on per trip.

I love your photos! I haven't been to a character meal in a really long time. I think I need to make a reservation for one soon! :o)

Character meals have become a tradition for us. Before kids, we never went to one thinking they were just for little ones. Once we went to our first one, we realized we missed out on such a great experience!

We love character meals too! 4 out of 7 of our meals on our upcoming trip are character meals, and we're just 2 adults! :)
