Sweet! Irresistibly Sweet!

irresistably_sweet_award

My dear friend Melissa from The Life of a Honey Bee has passed on a super sweet award to me ===>

Here’s what Melissa said about me when she gave me the award:

Not only is she my bloggy friend, but I can also say she's a real life friend as well, after I got the chance to meet up with her and her sweet family back in May at Epcot.

If you are a fan of Homeschooling, Disney or Adoption (among other things!) you'll find lots of fun and informative posts to read about on her blog!  She's someone who is genuine and sweet, both on her blog and in person!

Wow!  Let me tell you, I am honored to call Melissa my friend!  We met up with them not long after our stroller and camera bag were stolen (we did retrieve our stroller, but the camera bag was never found/returned).  Anyway, needless to say, my whole family kinda had a cloud hanging over us.  But, meeting Melissa and her family and spending some time with them lifted that cloud just a bit!  I hope we’ll have chances to visit with them again on future trips to Florida!  Thanks, Melissa – you made my day!

Here are the award rules:
1. Link back to the person who gave you the award.
2. List 7 unknown facts about yourself.
3. Pass the award on to at least 1 sweet blogger.

Man, I feel rather like my life is an open book here on my blog.  Let’s see . . . what haven’t I already shared?

  1. Brian and I will be celebrating our 20th anniversary – which will actually only be our 5th “real” anniversary – in February.  We’re hoping to plan a trip to Walt Disney World.  Yes, another one!  Hopefully we’ll get to see Melissa and her family again.
  2. I tend to get way to “into” the things that I’m involved in.  Like work, for example.  Sometimes that’s good – other times it’s not so good.  Wish I could find a healthy balance.  Otherwise, I end up getting hurt sometimes because I take things way to personally.
  3. I love ice cream!  And I’ve probably consumed enough of it this summer to fill my kitchen.  Well, maybe not.  But, I’ve eaten a serious amount of it.  And, in fact, I’m hungry for some right now.
  4. I’m having an obscene amount of fun shopping for things to stock my camper with – like plates and bowls, sheets, and fun little camping gadgets and supplies.  I hope I have an equal amount of fun actually using the camper!
  5. The other day, I was trying to clean out from underneath my refrigerator when my middle fingernail got caught on something which went under the nail and bent it back.  Not only did it really, really hurt, but now it just looks really ugly.  And I hate painting my nails.
  6. On the other hand, I love painting my toenails.  Right now, they are a very, very dark maroon (almost black, with 2 coats).
  7. When playing games, word games are my favorites.  Well, except for Scrabble – that game kinda bugs me.

Now to pass the award on.  The past few days have been a bit stressful; but through it all there have been a few people who have risen to the occasion of being my encouragers.  So, I’m passing the award along to these Sweet Bloggers (who also happen to be members of the Homeschool Crew). There are others who have been sweet, too, but these are 4 who have really risen to the occasion:

  • Tim @ Families Again every year, we try to add some homeschooling dads to the Crew.  But, so far, Tim’s been the only one who has really “meshed” with all the ladies.  He’s serving his 3rd term with the Crew this year and he’s totally a keeper!  We all love Tim.  He’s a great guy who can stand his own against a bunch of women, and he’s always very encouraging (and sweet).
  • Roberta @ Pondering on the Prairie – this year, we added an Encouragement Team to the Crew and this lady was a “must have” for that team.  Over the past few days, she’s encouraged me over and over again.  And you know the coolest thing?  She didn’t even know why she was encouraging me – God just laid me on her heart and she followed His leading.  I love that!
  • Renita @ HOMEDAZE – Renita is just one of those people that I know I could meet in person and feel like I’ve known her forever.  I hope to meet her sometime, this side of heaven, and give her a big squeeze.  She has been very sweet and has offered me much encouragement lately. Sometimes it makes me cry – but crying is good, right?
  • Angie @ Petra School – Angie gets it!  I’ve really enjoyed getting to know her over the past year and hope for more opportunities to get to know her as we go on “cruising” together.  She’s got a good, solid head on her shoulders and she posts the most gorgeous pictures on her blog (I wish I could step into them – seriously!)
  • Chris @ Army of 5 – Chris has been with us on the Crew since day 1!  As we go through the years working together and getting to know one another more, we find more and more that we have in common.  One of these days, hopefully, we’ll get to meet in person.  I feel like I already know her!

I have not had nearly enough ice cream this summer. Sigh.

Great job passing it on to more than 1! I should have taken the time to pick more...but that's okay...you still would have been at the top of my list :)

So sorry about your fingernail...hate when stuff like that happens! But yet another thing we have in common...I hate painting my fingernails too, but love having my tonails painted :)

Not that I'd want to horn in on your anniversary - but perhaps we should plan something on the 29th to celebrate your anniversary and Bridgette's birthday together?! Cause I'm sure there is no place Bridgette would rather go than to Disney on her REAL birthday...especially her 16/4th!

Ummmm, you'd better plan on a hook up with ME too in February...just what your hubby wants for your anniversary I'm sure. It's our 20th next year too.
I'm right there with you on the toe nail/finger nail thing. My toe nails are a fun shade of orange right now ;-)
