Busy Monday . . .

Miscellany Monday @<br />lowercase letters

Man, today was a busy day – places to go, people to see, things to do.  So, I figured I’d just throw together a quick miscellany post . . .

{one} I’m reading a really great book on my Kindle.  Kindles are fun.  Too bad I’m usually buried in other books to read.  But, once in awhile, I have a break in review books and  grab my Kindle for a good (free) read.  I don’t even remember what this  book is called – but it’s hard to put down!  I actually got out of bed this morning and read for awhile – which I rarely ever do.

{tw0} School is very minimal on Mondays when we have orchestra.  The girls did get some school done – and I’m trying really hard not to be over-anxious about our schedule.  We get done what we can – and the rest will have to wait.

{three} Today was Gracie’s 3rd orchestra practice.  I like going in a few minutes before they are finished, as we get to hear them for a little bit.  They’ve really improved in just these first few weeks.  The Hallelujah Chorus sounds half-decent.  I think Handel would be proud!

{four} Ashley and I (and Ian) did something a bit “out of our box” today . . . we went into a tattoo parlor.  Yes, we did!  No tattoos though.  Ashley is now the proud owner of a tiny little stud in her nose.  Hope it stops bleeding and looks ok for her senior pictures (which are being taken tomorrow morning!)

{five} My cousin works at Ross – and it just so happens that this week was double-discount  for employees.  So, we found some clothes for Gracie and a few Christmas gift items and loaded my cousin up.  She will buy them and we’ll pay her back later.  Don’t tell anyone, ok?

{six} I have a Sheetz card that gives me all the lattes I can drink for $1.99 this month.  Wish I wasn’t so thirsty today because we hit up the Sheetz store only to back into another car in the parking lot.  Yikes!  Now I can’t make fun of Brian for backing into that building at the racetrack anymore.  In my defense though, at least this car was moving!  And the lady was SO NICE about it.  If I was going to back into someone, I’m glad it was her.

{seven} Surprisingly, I didn’t come home to a ton of work-related e-mails today.  Yeah!  That means I don’t have to work all evening – so I think I’ll read (see #1).

and in other news . . .

{eight} On Saturday, we gave our black Pug, Sallie, away.  It was very bittersweet.  But, I know that we made the right decision.  I really believe that our dogs needed to both be separated and in families where they can each take center stage.  I got the nicest note from Sallie’s new owner on Sunday, and it made me feel like we definitely made the right decision.

{nine} My mom and I started a new Bible study at church last night.  It’s based on the book Lies Women Believe by Nancy Leigh Demoss.  I love that it comes with an accompanying workbook.  I think it’ll be a good study – and there’s such a nice  group of ladies involved.

{ten} I’m excited to be guest-hosting Tiggerific Tuesday with Jodi at Magical Mouse Schoolhouse this week.   This should be fun!

Wow, you have had a busy day!

Yikes! on the fender bender. No fun!

I hope Ashley's nose looks good--and feels good--for senior photos tomorrow.

Oh, and I've completed that Bible study a few years ago. As I recall, it was a good one. :)

Enjoy the book on your Kindle! :)

Wow Heidi! I don't know how you could possible be old enough to have a daughter with a nose ring in her SENIOR photos. Amazing!

I am glad the lady was nice about you backing into her car. And that no one was hurt.

Wow! How did Ashley score that? I don't think anything could talk me into letting our oldest get one.

I love the new blog look, Heidi! How fun on the nose piercing! I had forgotten that Ashley is graduating this year. I'm so glad that you hit a nice lady. My last bender bump was a crabby lady!

Can you share the Kindle title when you get around to remembering what is is called? :)
