Our resort at Summer Bay

My last Disney trip report post was on our visit to the Magic Kingdom.  We had so much fun, but left in the mid-afternoon.  It was getting VERY hot and we thought it would be nice to break up our day by leaving and getting checked in (and settled in) at our resort.

We were feeling pretty important when we were greeted by these towel swams!  (Remember, our first night at the Days Inn was NOT a pleasant experience).  The master bedroom included a king size bed and it’s own bathroom, complete with jacuzzi tub.

The girls shared the other bedroom with had two twin-sized beds.  It had its own bathroom in the hall outside the room.  We need to remember the next time we’re staying in a place with two bathrooms that we need to take TWO of everything (shampoo, etc.) – we were fighting over toiletries all week!

The living room was comfy. My only complaint would be the large transom window above the main window – it left in way too much sunshine in the early mornings!  The villa had 3 tv’s – one in the living room and one in each bedroom.

The best thing about a home-away-from-home is always the kitchen!  It allowed us to bring groceries and meals from home and prepare while  there, cutting down on spending on our vacation.  Another favorite – the washer & dryer, which you can see in the open closet door.  We made great use of them throughout the week and came home with very little dirty clothes.

The splash pool/water park was located right outside our room.  The kids enjoyed it!  The resort also had several other pools that the kids checked out while we were at the FPEA convention.

Gracie’s favorite part was the Clubhouse – where she participated in Wii competitions (Mario Kart and Sports) and she and Ian did various fun craft projects.

We were very pleased with the Summer Bay experience.  Thanks to the Suarez family for making the reservations and sharing their timeshare with us!  It was fun to be their neighbors for a week!

Wow – I wish we could make this an annual event!
