I found this meme today and thought that I’d attempt to play along. I think the main purpose is to share more about books for younger kids, but I thought it might be a fun way to share what all my kids are reading and enjoying – and it’ll be a homeschool-related post as well (nothing like killing two birds with one stone, right?) So, here goes ---
Ashley is currently reading Scout, Atticus, and Boo - A Celebration of Fifty Years of To Kill a Mockingbird by Mary Murphey and Heartland Heroes by Andrea Boeshaar. (Like her mom, she needs to mix fiction in with non-fiction!)
Gracie is reading Pippi in the South Seas by Astrid Lindgren. She read Pippi Longstocking for school this year (along with a Total Language Plus guide). So, she’s following it up with this book, which was actually party of my book collection as a child! She and I are also reading through The Quest for Seven Castles (book 2 in the Terrestria Chronicles series) by Ed Dunlop (we try to read one chapter each night before bed).
Ian’s current favorite is Bear Wants More. He wants me to read it to him every night! Too cute. I think he’d be a prime candidate for the Five in a Row curriculum, but we just do not seem to have success in locating most of the books they recommend.
As as for me (even though I’m not a child – LOL), I’m reading Family Driven Faith by Voddie Baucham Jr. and Refuge on Crescent Hill by Melanie Dobson. (Reviews of these 2 books – coming soon!)
What about you and your children? Are you reading any good books this week? If you decide to share, be sure to link up here.

Heidi, just curious, what did you think of TLP? I'm going to be doing that with my Ann next year. She's the same age as your Gracie, going into 6th but since it's a new curriculum to us, I thought I'd start her out easy.
I hear differing accounts of TLP. What did you think?
BTW, you can email me if you'd prefer that to answering in the comments. Tricia-Lynn@Sbcglobal.net

Neat, I'll have to do a post about what mine are reading. I just wanted to say I am about to start book 4 in the Terrestria Chronicles and enjoying it a ton. I like the 7 Castles book a lot.
Family Driven Faith is an amazing book! I hope you are being blessed and encouraged by it! I must have loaned mine out because I don't know where it is! That happens...a lot. :o)
Thanks for sharing this meme. I've just finally figured out what they were so I'm trying to find some I like and this is definitely one. I'll try and do a post in a bit about what we are reading too.
Thanks for joining What My Child Is Reading. I really like to see what older children are reading too. I was not raised on English-language literature, so it's always good to see what comes after picture books :) Anna also enjoyed Karma Wilson Bear series, they are so beautifully illustrated.
