I left another day slip by without posting my gratitude – yet I was thinking about it a lot! Does that count?
Anyway, I am thankful for some local friends. Over the past few years, do to some issues at our church and Sue’s death, we lost a lot of our local friends. It’s been a really tough time for us as a family.
However, I’m happy to announce that we’ve been making some great new friends (as a family). And, through my job with TOS, I’ve even managed to meet some local people – one of which I had lunch with today.
I have lots of friends “in my computer” but it’s very important to have some “real life” friends too. I’ve had many opportunities to meet people in various states this past year – and I do consider them all to be “real life” friends – but I miss that closeness that you can share with someone who is RIGHT THERE.
I so enjoyed my lunch today – being able to get out of the house on my own and converse with another adult, without distractions and noise! I had such a great time that I didn’t even care that it was raining. :)
I don’t want this post to come across as though we don’t have any OLD friends. We do. If you’re reading this post, you know who you are – and we love you!
