See the Light

yhst-20297797956655_2134_7316264 Several months ago, I received a DVD from See the Light called The Crossmaker.  The kids and I sat down and watched it right away, and really enjoyed it. However, I totally forgot to post my review.  So, I owe See the Light a huge apology!

Here’s some information about The Crossmaker DVD (from the company’s website):

The Crossmaker DVD includes two timeless stories of God’s love and passion in action. In the first episode, The Crossmaker, Dominic, the son of a carpenter, finds himself drawn into the unforgettable trial of the man called Jesus. Share in this amazing adventure that takes Dominic from Christ’s crucifixion to a place of redemption, and a face-to-face meeting with the risen Christ.

The second episode, Jesus Loves the Children, presents the beautiful story of Jesus demonstrating to his disciples His unconditional love for children.

Also included on The Crossmaker DVD:

Celebrate the Light: Feed your need for worship! As kids watch and draw-along with renowned chalk-artist Gloria Kohlmann, you revel in the worship music performed by “Breathing Room” recording artists Jan Roper and Kevin Dukes.

Know the Light: The plan of salvation is clearly and creatively presented through the captivating expression of art.

Draw the Light: Gloria teaches her chalk-art technique to a class of mesmerized children – and to your children, too! Don’t miss the big black light finale!

This DVD is great!  The stories are told by a grandfather, sitting down to share them with his grandchildren.  While he is talking (in a most pleasant voice to listen to, I might add), you are seeing chalk illustrations of the story.  They are amazingly beautiful and immediately draw you into the stories.

The Crossmaker story is a very moving tale of a young boy who supposedly has to make the cross that becomes the ones that Jesus is crucified on.  It brings tears to my eyes.  Jesus Loves the Children is a great reminder to children and adults alike that Jesus always has time for and cares for the children.

One of my favorite parts of the DVD is the “Draw the Light” section in the special features.  Chalk artist, Gloria, shares with children how to create their very own chalk illustration and the results are just beautiful.  I am anxious for my 10-year-old artist to try this – we just need to purchase some chalk!

I would highly recommend See the Light DVD’s.  You can find out more about them by visiting the website, or by following See the Light on Facebook and/or Twitter

NOTE: I received a free copy of the above-mentioned DVD in order to view it and provide my honest opinion in this post.  I was not compensated in any other way.
