Big G Cereals & Hot Wheels – review & GIVEAWAY

CONTEST OVER!  Congratulations to this winner – Karen W (comment #53).  I’ll be in touch with you to redeem your prize!

big_g My dad’s cousin used to work for General Mills.  He lives in the Buffalo, NY area; but every time we would get together, he’d come with CASES of cereal for us – so much so that we usually had to share because we had so much!  It was WONDERFUL!

Several years have passed since our cereal case days, so we were thrilled when a nice-sized box arrived on our doorstep the other day, containing FIVE boxes of Big G cereal.

big g hot wheels Not only are there some of our favorites cereals here, but each box contains a Hot Wheels pullback racer!  So far, we’ve opened 3 boxes because Ian really wants those cars!  (See them pictured on the front of each box? We found that yellow car today, and added it to the ones from the other day – red and  blue.)

You know what’s really cool about these?  Remember, when you were a kid, how you had to either dig to the bottom of the bag or actually eat most of the cereal to find the prize?  Well, these are right on top, OUTSIDE of the actual cereal bag!  Now, I might be simple, but I found that exciting!  The racers are individually wrapped and you have to put on the stickers yourself.  Can I just say that Ian thinks that I’m a car-making genius?!

Starting January 24th, inside each participating cereal box (Cheerios® 14 oz, Cinnamon Toast Crunch® 17 oz, Lucky Charms® 16 oz, Reese’s Puffs® 18 oz, and Cookie Crisp® 15.6 oz), you’ll be able to “gas and go” with one of four custom-designed collectable Hot Wheels® pullback racers. Each car contains a code to unlock an exciting online racing game.

When it comes to meals, breakfast is important in helping kids fuel up for the day and Big G cereals provides a healthy breakfast choice for parents to offer their families. You can feel good about giving your kids a bowl of Big G cereal and they’ll be thanking you for a breakfast that is as tasty as it is fun!

So, get out there, get your family some cereal, and have fun racing your new Hot Wheels pullback racers!

GIVEAWAY!!!  General Mills and Hot Wheels have generously donated a package – just like the one that I received – to give away to one of my readers!  If you’d like to win, please leave me a comment telling me what your favorite General Mills cereal.  That’s it – it’s that simple.  I’ll draw a random winner from among the comments next Thursday, February 17th, at noon.

Wow! What a great package! We just stocked up on some General Mills cereal via a great deal at a local grocery store. My children had Cinnamon Toast Crunch for the first time and are in love, lol.

OH, what fun! We are Cheerios folks here, although my kids do enjoy having some of the special "Sweet Cereals" when go away, camping, etc... :)

What a fabulous giveaway! With the way we go through cereal around here, this would be great! My personal fave GM cereal is Cinnamon Toast Crunch! :) I've been known to stash a box of it waaaaay in the back of the pantry so the kids don't find/eat it! {Mmmwaaa ha ha ha ha!}

Here's a fun hot wheels memory~ I grew up in a house with a dirt basement (Outside entrance). One summer, when it was HOT (for Montana, so maybe not soooooo hot), I remember my youngest big brother and I playing in the basement~ we carved out roads in the one dirt wall, and had big caves for the "Homes". It was like the Pacific Coast highway in our imaginations! :)

My boys and I used to set up the Hot Wheels track all around our house and run the cars over it. I wish I had pictures. It was so much fun. We had one of those contraptions that also shot the Hot Wheels through it to help them get over tall hills... know what I mean??? Ok they are called launchers. I looked on the web and could not find one like the one we used to have... but you know what I mean... I hope.

When my son was about 7 or 8 he bought a multipack of hotwheels cars with his own money. On the way home from the store we stopped at the park & he was burying his cars in the rocks. I told him he would forget where they were, but he didn't think so. When it was time to go he couldn't find them all. He was very sad but he still calls that park "the hotwheel park" and he is 20 years old.

Hot wheels memory - As the only girl in my family, I grew up playing a lot of "boy games". I loved helping my older brother set up his hot wheels race track. And at Christmas time, I would get my own hot wheels cars to play along with him. :D

I adore the Reeses cereal. I refuse to get it very often though, usually only if we are going to be traveling. Normally, I tend to buy Cheerios.
