What’s wrong with this picture?

I saw this over at From Chalkboards to Strollers – and since I’m sitting around on a Sunday afternoon with nothing much else to do, I thought I’d play along.  I’m not quite the national traveler that Liz is.  The colored states represent the ones I’ve been to; while the white ones are places yet to be visited:

Yep, I’m pretty much an east coast kind of girl! One of these days, we’ll have to do something to change that!  For now, though, I’m content hanging out over here on the east coast.

Here are a few of my favorites places:

1. Walt Disney World!  If you’ve read my blog for about 2 minutes, you probably already figured out that I rather love that place!  So, there’s really not much else to say!

2. The Historic Triangle – Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown, VA – the perfect place for a multi-day historical field trip.  We love it there!

3. Ocean City, New Jersey – I must admit that I’m not a huge fan of sand.  But, there’s something about OCNJ that calls me back, over and over again.  I like the atmosphere.  I like the smell.  I like the sound of the waves hitting the beach.  I like the boardwalk.  I just don’t like the sand – and the sunburn that I usually come home with.

4. Upper Michigan – we only visited the area once, but it was beautiful!  Definitely worth a return trip sometime.  Do I have any friends up there that want company?

5. And some places in my home state of PA that are worthy of visiting over and over again -

  • Harrisburg – Not only do we boast one of the most beautiful state capital buildings in the U.S. but I just love having access to our state capital and the fact that it’s not such a HUGE city – it’s very easy to get around down there.  Much more my speed than the bigger cities of Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.
  • Hershey – what could be better than the chocolate capital of the world?  LOL  We’ve got that tour ride memorized, but we keep going back for me.
  • Lancaster – we don’t go to Lancaster for the Amish (we’ve got them in our own backyard) – but there’s so much else to see and do in Lancaster.  We make several trips down that way each year and never tire of it.

If you’d like to create your own map, you can do so here.  (They also have maps for Canada and Mexico.)

I'd love to go to Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown, VA. It's on my list. I played along and posted too (although I think I've been to less places than you so it's not too exciting!) lol!

Yay, so glad you did this! You definitely have the east coast covered, such a great area. I would love to make it up to Maine, I hear that it is beautiful! I've also always wanted to make it to Hersey, I'm such a chocolate lover and I hear that when you get out of your car you can smell it in the air. that's my kind of city!! I love upper Michigan, we took a family camping trip there one summer and we had the best time!
