Purina® Pet Gear (and GIVEAWAY!)

summer 2011 002 summer 2011 001

The oneCARE Company, under Purina® license, has recently debuted several new products in the Purina® Pet Gear line designed to make a new pet’s homecoming easier and to make caring for your puppy (or dog) more rewarding.  I received a few products from this line for use and review. . .

HairRollerGroup The first item that I received was basically a lint roller for picking up pet hair.  Those of you who know me, know that we have two Pugs, and I’ve complained about pet hair several times in the past!  Our black Pug (Sallie) really isn’t much of a shedder; but our fawn Pug (Lizzie) sheds like crazy and her hair is horrible to get off the furniture.

While this is similar to other lint rollers that we’ve purchased in the past, it does seem to be a bit stronger and stickier and does pick up the pet hair better than the others.  While it doesn’t totally remove the pet hair from the furniture, it definitely does help and is worth using.

multisurface-stain-odor_01 I also received the Purina® Pet Gear Pet Stain & Odor Eliminator for carpet and upholstery. Here’s some information about this product from Purina:

The superior new cleaning agent thoroughly removes pet stains and the odors that lead puppies back to the same spots, all without damaging carpet or furniture. The proprietary pro-enzyme formula is a blend of six enzymes that break down stains and eliminate odors naturally.

The 2-in-1 cleaning action lifts pet soils from carpet fibers for easy removal while the odor-eliminating technology destroys surface odors on contact. The enzymes and bacteria continue to break down deep soils as well as the source of odors until they’ve been completely eliminated; thorough odor removal discourages pets from remarking. Designed for use on carpet, upholstery, pet beds, litter boxes and any water-safe surface, the Purina® Pet Gear Pet Stain & Odor Eliminator is safe for use around children and pets.

I didn’t really look too closely at this product, thinking that it was basically a deodorizer spray for pet odors.  I already had another similar product that I was using, so I put this one aside to use later.  Then, upon closer inspection, I realized this was also a furniture cleaner.

family picnic July 2011 035 I just posted the other week about my stained couch. I decided it was the ultimate test to see if this product actually worked.  I used it on the arm of the couch, which was horribly stained.  I dampened the arm with the spray, rubbed over it several times with a sponge, covered it with a towel, and walked away.  Brian took the towel off hours later to discover the stains were almost entirely removed.  So, I did the same thing to the other arm (which wasn’t quite as bad to start with).  Here’s the before picture:

family picnic July 2011 036 After just a few hours, that same arm now looks like this:

Sorry, the lighting isn’t as good in teh 2nd picture; but you can tell that the stains look MUCH better.  I’m impressed and will definitely be using (and purchasing) more of this product!  I’m now not nearly as ashamed to have company over.

The third item I received was Purina® Pet Gear Ultra Dry Training Pads.  These pads:

feature an exclusive DryStep™ cover designed to prevent leaks and paw prints from tracking through the house. The pad features an innovative top layer that contains thousands of microfunnels to quickly channel liquid into the middle, where it’s rapidly absorbed and locked away, preventing it from coming back to the surface, even as dogs walk across. The leak-proof backing also protects floors and carpets. The pads are available in 10-count, 20-count and 40-count and come in an easy-to-store box for convenient dispensing.

I haven’t actually used these pads, as our dogs are already potty trained.  However, now that it’s started raining here in PA again, maybe I’ll get mine out and try it at the back door.

GIVEAWAY!!!

Would you like to try the Purina® Pet Gear Ultra Dry Training Pads?  The first 10 people who leave me a comment telling me which of the above products most appeals to you and why will receive a free puppy pad sample and coupon (via USPS).  Please be sure to leave a valid e-mail address, so I can contact you for shipping information.

NOTE: I received free products from the manufacturer in order to  try them and share my honest thoughts.

Would love the Pet Stain & Odor Elimator to try, as I have a kitten and he is apt to have accidents still, lol. Our cats are definitely Purina cats!

The stain and odor eliminator appeals to me, but might be worth trying puppy pads since our dog likes to go in the basement.

Okay, I think I lost my last comment. The roller lint remover and the spray are much needed items here.

We could use the Pet Hair Roller. Our Pomeranian gets hair on the furniture, at time it's hard to get it cleaned up with just the vacuum.
