We’ve had a fairly mild summer so far. But, all of a sudden, this week, the heat is almost unbearable! I have an app on my computer from The Weather Channel. When there’s going to be extreme weather of any kind (storms, winter weather, etc.), I hear thunder. It just happened, so I clicked to see if we were expecting a storm. Instead, I read this:
. . . it will feel like it is close to 100 degrees this afternoon . . .
The heat index . . . which is a measure of what it feels like outside . . . will approach 100 degrees this afternoon. Most locations will have a high temperature in the lower to mid 90’s. The high humidity will make it more difficult for our bodies to cool off naturally.
Thursday, Friday, and even Saturday have the potential to be even more oppressive.
Nice, huh? I feel kinda like I’m in Florida. Which makes me wish I was in Florida. Because, hey, if I’m going to be suffering anyway, I might as well be doing it with my pal, Mickey, right?
Brian doesn’t agree. Instead, he brought home two new air conditioners last night; and he’s installing them right now.
Talk to me about the weather where you live . . .

It's been horrible weather this summer here in Arkansas. After an incredibly rainy Spring, Summer came fast and HOT and dry. We are having temps of 106+ with heat indexes of 110+. Thank God for the a/c!! Everything~including my garden~is just burnt up. Looking forward to Fall:)
Currently it's 91 degrees at 6:30 PM with a heat index of 100. Later this week we'll see triple digits with a heat index around 111-116. Forget the beach! I want to go to the North Pole.
Today was day 18 of temps over 100 here in North TX!!
You mean to tell me that you haven't had an air conditioner until now? That's amazing. Here in Florida, it brushed 90 today, and didn't get any higher than 87 yesterday.
Well even here in little ol' New Hampshire it is supposed to be in the 90s the next 3 days. That probably doesn't sound bad to some of you, but for us, it is! :-) We haven't even installed our AC units yet this year, but I think we may need to!
Hey there~
Well, I hate to tell you but you guys are actually HOTTER than us here in Mickey land. It's crazy..
But it is still quite humid and muggy here..
Stay cool. Wish I could send you some Mickey Mouse ice cream to help cool off :-)
Its not really even the heat that bothers me, its the humidity!!! Uggg!
I know a great place you can cool off if you need to!! ;)
Here in NY it's hot and humid and I love it:) Heading down to WDW soon to enjoy the same! Could not do it without AC though...
Hooray for air conditioning! We live in the beautifully HOT southwest. Needless to say we've been praying for rain and they had to close our mountain range because of fire hazard... and then fires came anyway. I've been pregnant over summers before but I've never remembered it being an issue before. This time I walk outside for a few minutes and get sapped of all energy even at 8am (which is already getting past the 90's). Crazy weather this year!
It is incredibly hot down here in the south too. Last week we had one day with a heat index of 109! I dislike summer. Ugh!
