Baby, it’s cold outside!

What’s the weather like where you live?  Here in PA, it’s chilly! It definitely feels like fall – the air is crisp and cool, and it’s time to put our camper in storage for the winter (yes, the camper that we bought and never got to take out to a campground!)  Today I went out and bought pumpkin – time to start mixing up some yummy pumpkin creations and making the house smell like fall!

And all this talk of fall makes me start thinking about Christmas cards again. Right after Thanksgiving, I like to get my Christmas tree set up and start working on addressing my cards.

We have a large and varied Christmas card list; and, because of that, I like getting the photo Christmas cards.  My kids grow and change so much each year; and for those who live far away and don’t get to see them, I think the photo cards are the best. Last year, I ordered my cards from Shutterfly.com and we were just thrilled with them!

STATIONERYCARD_5x7-23046-4381-MERCHLARGE_FRONT-v1313119978000129259 (1) I know I’m kinda obsessive with planning things, and my Christmas cards are no exception.  For this year, I’m looking at this design (called Snowflakes Ribbon).  It comes in different colors – the red shown here, blue, brown, and black. ===>

I think we’ll go with the red and use black & white photos on it.  One of the whole family (from Walt Disney World!) on the bottom, and one of each of the kids across the top.  It’s hard to believe that this year we’ll have a senior picture of Ashley to add to our Christmas cards!

Oh and a cool feature about these cards --- you can even put another picture (or multiple pictures) on the back, along with a personal message.  Very cool, huh?  If you’re on my list, act surprised, ok?

So, what about you?  What’s your plan for Christmas cards this year?  I want to know!

If you’d like to order your holiday cards from Shutterfly, you’re in luck!  I’ve got 3 codes for 25 FREE CARDS to give away.  Please leave a comment on this post, telling me which card you’ll choose if you win. I’ll draw some random winners next Friday at noon (est).  Good luck!

NOTE: I received a code for 50 free Christmas cards from Shutterfly.com in exchange for writing this post. I only promote items that I use, enjoy, and appreciate. All thoughts herein are entirely my own and were not influenced in any way.

I probably won't send very many. I used to have an extensive list that I mailed out usually around Thanksgiving weekend. One year I even handstamped all of my cards. It is so expensive and with the internet most people already see pictures of us so it just doesn't seem as necessary. My favorite kind to receive are family letters that tell what everyone has been doing all year. Especially if they are funny.

If I win I think I'd pick Joy to the World.

Oh wow! Christmas cards are often only done around here every 2-3 years just because of cost. We've never done a photo card before because they cost even more. I LOVE the card you showcased up above. We had our first professional photo with my 2.5 yr old this year and that card with it's format would be amazingly perfect for our family.

Oh, please, please, please (magic comment drawing system) pick me!! :)

We are still having temps in the upper 90's. I am so ready for some steady chill I could scream. I am not a fan of the desert. Not a bit. :)

I like the family wall card. We like sending cards with pictures of all of the kids. And it is cold outside here too- after temps in the 90s Monday now it is in the 40s. brrr! Come back summer!

You know me! Of course I have a card that I will create with my scrapbooking software. And it always has our family photo from that year's DIsney trip. I love it!

Weather is finally cooled off here in central TX - which means that we are no longer in the 90s or 100s. We even got to turn on the heater this week! For us, that means it got down below 50 at night. ;) I don't do well sending out Christmas cards, birthday cards, or any other kinda cards. Hubby tried to get me to do it when we first got married, but now he doesn't even bother. LOL If they wanna know what is up with us, they'll call! Right? ;) Maybe....
