2011 Gratitude Challenge–November 11 & 12

I missed posting for the Gratitude Challenge yesterday – not because I wasn’t grateful, but because I wasn’t home.  As previously shared, Ashley and I left on Thursday for a Girls’ Overnight Trip in celebration of her upcoming 18th birthday.  Last March, just 15 days after my friend Sue passed away, my mom took me to Lancaster to celebrate my 40th birthday. I know she wanted to have a party for me, but I  begged her to reconsider.  She got us tickets to see Joseph at Sight & Sound, and we spent the night at the Fulton Steamboat Inn.  Ever since then, Ashley has wanted to stay there too.  She said it was all she wanted for her 18th birthday – to spend the night in Lancaster with me, and to shop!  So, we did!  And we had a great time – I’ll post more about it in a separate post.

We got home last night, but I refused to turn my computer on until this morning!  Two days without my computer and without work were great and very much needed!

Now, today – I’m very thankful for a day at home with nothing on the calendar. I think we’ll be very content to just sit at home and relax all day!

Heidi, those are wonderful things to be thankful for!  My father took me on a special trip for my 18th birthday, and it is something that I will never forget.  I'm sure that Ashley will cherish your special time together for the rest of her life.
