(I'd love to see the) Candlelight Processional

I’m taking a trip on Magical Blogorail GREEN this week.
We’re sharing our favorite things about the holiday season at Disney.

By now, if you’ve joined us for the entire Blogorail Loop, you should have read about Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, the Osborne Spectacle of Lights, the Gingerbread Houses, and Cinderella’s Wish. 

Disney goes all out for the holidays – from the decorations to the special events.  We have never actually visited over the holidays, so I feel a bit inadequate to talk about my favorite thing.  However, there is something that I’ve read about and seen pictures of that I think I’d really enjoy seeing . . .

 . . . the Candlelight Processional

Candlelight Processional is held at the American Adventure Pavilion in Epcot’s World Showcase, in the American Gardens Theater.  You can see it every night, starting the night after Thanksgiving through the end of December.  Each night features a special celebrity narrator who retells the Christmas story, while accompanied by a choir and a 50-piece orchestra. (Who knows?  Maybe one day Ashley will perform as a choir member or Gracie will join the orchestra with her voilin!)

It sounds like a very moving event, and it’s definitely something that I’m hoping to one day say that I have seen!

According to the Disney website, this event is very popular and sells out quickly! A great way to assure that you have a seat for the processional is by purchasing a Candlelight Dinner Package, which includes a yummy lunch or dinner, seats for the show, and pre-arranged viewing of the fireworks.  More details can be found here.

If you were going to this event, when would you choose to go, based on the narrators?  My first choice would probably be Michael W. Smith (I’ve seen him in concert a few times, but it’s been years!), followed by Marlee Matlin (I’m guessing that would be a very moving performance).
