Friendship Friday ~ Meet Jodi

So far, we haven’t had many people linking up with their friendship posts. My hope, though, is that you’re at least thinking about those special friendships in your life.  Maybe you’re not writing about them on your blog (or maybe you don’t even have a blog); but hopefully you are reaching out to your friends in some way – let them know how special they are to you!

I encourage you, this coming week, to reach out to one friend in some way – a phone call, a card in the mail, a shout-out on FB – let him/her know how you feel.  Don’t keep it inside!  I can almost guarantee that YOU will be the one who ends up blessed for it!

Now, moving right along to this week’s introduction . . .

I’d like to you meet my friend Jodi

Jodi and I met several years ago when she was a part of a review team that I was heading up at the time.  Automatically, I felt a connection with her!

Because she lives in New Jersey, we realized that it would actually be possible for us to meet each other!  So, we started setting up field trips – usually meeting in the middle somewhere.  We bonded, and our kids bonded.  The past 2 summers, while my family has been vacationing at Ocean City, NJ, we’ve also had opportunity to meet up.  This year, we met at the Cape May County Zoo.  Here are our kids all hanging out and having fun:

When I found myself in need of a second assistant at my job, I called on Jodi and she jumped right in.  We discovered that, not only were we great friends, but we could also work very well together.  I enjoyed that time of being able to work together, and I learned even more about Jodi that made me admire and love her!

When my friend Sue passed away, Jodi was there – encouraging me through my grief.  She had some understanding of what I was going through, having lost her mom to cancer years earlier.  She knew the pain and the loss.  Having her made my loss a little less painful.

Good friends are so hard to find.  I’m so glad that I have Jodi!

While we don’t get to see each other nearly as much as I would like, I know she’s there.  And, I think, she knows the same of me.  And, when we do get together, we can pick right up where we left off – as though no time has been lost.

She’s a treasure to me, and I love her.

Thank you so much for your kind words about our friendship! I am so touched by your post and thankful that even though we don't see each other as often as we'd like that our friendship still means as much to you as it does to me. I miss working with you!! I love you right back!!! xoxo
