Destination Disney Fireworks!

This week’s Destination Disney topic is FIREWORKS!

Even though I’ve been running back and forth between my laptop (primarily work, but really it’s becoming my everything computer!) and the desktop (primarily school, etc.) all week long, it has taken me until this morning to finally send myself some of our Disney pictures from last January.

We didn’t get to see the fireworks on our trip in May of this year, so these pics were taken on on trip in January ‘09.  I must say that fireworks are not easy to catch on camera.  I’m not a professional (though I’d love to take a few classes to at least learn about the settings on my camera!)  These pics were taken on my old camera (before it died in Williamsburg last fall).  Without a tri-pod to hold the camera still, it’s very difficult to get pics of the fireworks with a clear castle in the foreground.  Here are a few of my favorites:

You’ve not seen a fireworks display until you’ve seen one at Disney!  I’m not sure if it’s the actual fireworks that are all that great, or if it’s just Disney in  general.  I mean, when I see fireworks at home, they’re usually behind trees or church steeples, NOT Cinderella’s Castle!  There’s just something special about that!

Did you share your Fireworks pictures and/or stories?  If so, be sure to link up here.

Great pictures Heidi. Yours with the castle are a lot better than mine. I agree they are very hard to take, but I sure love being there seeing them!

We got to see the new Summer Nightastic fireworks before our passes went into the blackout period...but we watched them from the beach at the Polynesian Resort (after seeing The Electrical Parade at MK), which was nice since we had a place to sit (lounge chairs on the beach) and the reflection of them on the lagoon was cool too. I didn't get great pictures but they came out okay. (Heidi, you can check them out on my facebook photos)

Your pics are awesome by the way...did you use the fireworks setting on your camera? (we have the same camera!)
