Not one, but TWO, awards!

Yesterday was a very busy day!  We got up in the morning, and drove 2 1/2 hours to meet up with one of Ashley’s friends and her mom.  They live in NY and met us about 1/2 way – and took Ashley home with them to spend the week.  My mom came along and we visited with a friend for lunch before heading home.  Between a few Wal-mart stops, a traffic jam or two, and a thunderstorm, it made for a very long day!

Anyway, when I got home, I was tired and was trying to catch up on e-mails.  I was surprised to see that I/my blog was given two awards!  First off, Heidi from Chatter, Clatter, and Things that Matter blessed me with this one:

bblogger

Heidi said these sweet words about me – “I'm not sure how this sweet lady does it all in the same number of hours as everyone else! Heidi is the captain of the TOS Crew and does a fabulous job. Heidi is also fascinated with Disney and has a Destination Disney meme for all you fellow Mickey lovers. She is one busy lady that is beautiful inside and out!”

Thanks, Heidi!  I think you’re pretty amazing yourself!  You’re so on top of things with your homeschooling, and you still manage to get your Crew reviews done on time.  I’m blessed to have you serving on  the team for the 3rd year!  It just wouldn’t be the same without you.  So glad I had opportunity to meet you in person at the Midwest Convention in April!

The second award I received was this one, from SisterTipster:

VersatileBloggerAward

Cheryl is also a Homeschool Crew member.  She was on the Maiden Voyage with us, and has now returned to sail along for Year 3.  Her reviews are always honest and thorough.  Check out her blog for lots of freebies too!

I don’t have time to pass these awards along today – too much to do – but I will try to share 7 things about me (or am I supposed to share 14 since it’s TWO awards?!) ---

  1. I love chocolate.  Milk chocolate.  We go to the Hershey Chocolate Factory every chance we get (mostly, this seems to work out directly following the kids’ dentist appointments!)
  2. I love to plan things and make lists – organizing anything from our school year to our vacations.  Yeah, that’s me.  Thing is, I have so much trouble organizing my housework!
  3. I hate to be hot and I hate to be cold.  I need to live in a climate controlled environment where the sun shines 99% of the time.  Is there such a place?
  4. My favorite foods to make and serve are Italian dishes – like Lasagna and Stromboli.  I’m not Italian, but I did live there for 5 months in 1975 – guess the culture rubbed off a bit.  Ian doesn’t like Italian food – he’s the only one in our family who doesn’t.
  5. We’re currently attending the church that I grew up in – it feels a lot like “going home”.
  6. I took two years of Greek in high school.  Now, Ashley wants to take Greek.  I can’t read it anymore, but I can still write words – phonetically – using the Greek alphabet. I’m anxious for a refresher course.
  7. I should be doing laundry – not blogging!
