With Easter just around the corner, I was very pleased with the opportunity to review Magdalena: Through Her Eyes, a movie from Campus Crusade for Christ. Taking the original Jesus Film and adding new footage for women by women, the Magdalena: Through Her Eyes DVD portrays the story of Christ from the eyes of Mary Magdalene.
This movie is the story of Jesus from a woman's perspective. As she followed Jesus, Mary Magdalene witnessed changed lives, miracles and His tenderness toward women. Her own life was radically transformed when Jesus healed her and gave her a new purpose for living. You can view a preview of the movie here.
The girls and I sat down one morning last week and watched this film. I found it to be a beautifully done retelling of Jesus’ life on earth and very much appreciated seeing it from the perspective of a fellow woman. Sometimes we women tend to minimize our worth here on earth when there’s so much we could be doing to live up to our full potential. It was amazing to experience what it might have been like to actually live during the time of Christ and be a follower of him. It really made me think and it stirred up some great conversations with my girls.
