Magdalena: Through Her Eyes

resized magdalena usa final With Easter just around the corner, I was very pleased with the opportunity to review Magdalena: Through Her Eyes, a movie from Campus Crusade for Christ. Taking the original Jesus Film and adding new footage for women by women, the Magdalena: Through Her Eyes DVD portrays the story of Christ from the eyes of Mary Magdalene.

This movie is the story of Jesus from a woman's perspective. As she followed Jesus, Mary Magdalene witnessed changed lives, miracles and His tenderness toward women. Her own life was radically transformed when Jesus healed her and gave her a new purpose for living. You can view a preview of the movie here.

The girls and I sat down one morning last week and watched this film.  I found it to be a beautifully done retelling of Jesus’ life on earth and very much appreciated seeing it from the perspective of a fellow woman.  Sometimes we women tend to minimize our worth here on earth when there’s so much we could be doing to live up to our full potential.  It was amazing to experience what it might have been like to actually live during the time of Christ and be a follower of him.  It really made me think and it stirred up some great conversations with my girls.

I’d like to share this DVD with YOU!  It would be a great film to watch with your family in honor of Easter.  Or, even better, maybe you could invite a few girlfriends over for a movie night, complete with popcorn and good conversation!

This prize package will include:

  • Magdalena: Through Her Eyes DVD
  • Reflections of Hope Bible Study
  • “Women’s Ministry Leader” event letter
  • Special event marketing materials

All you have to do to be entered in the drawing is leave me a comment.  Please visit the movie’s website first – then come back here and tell me about something that you found of interest there.  That’s it!  It’s that simple.  Because Easter is coming so quickly and I want to make sure you receive this film in time, I’m only going to leave this contest open for a few days.  I’ll select a random winner at noon on Saturday (April 16th).

NOTE: I received the movie mentioned above for free, in the hope that I would mention it on my blog.  I only recommend products that I use personally and believe will be good for me readers.

I just went over and watched the trailer! This looks great! Will really bring up some good questions to discuss with the family. If I do not win, how to I order it?

I spent some time at the website. I read some of the info and watched the trailer. I love how it said in the trailer about the women of the bible being like the women of today. God created the heart of the woman in one way. Even time can't change that. Even though it's important to look to the modern woman for guidance and reflection, it's just as important to look to the women in the bible for the same. There is much to be learned from them and our hearts are strung the same. This would be an amazing gift to share with my family and friends. Blessings,

I think it is neat that they have a list of ideas to make it a movie night with other people, a schedule of events per se.

Sounds like a great movie.

What an amazing movie this looks like. God knew what I needed at this moment. I've felt bad lately because I haven't been able to to it all. I put so much on myself and feel that I have to be supermom and superwife.

I know many women who would benefit from this. Mainly ME!

Heidi, Thank you for sharing this powerful movie with others! I watched some of the videos and looked around the website. The trailer made me weep. What a reminder that He is not looking for perfection but came to grow us, save us, mold us so that one day we could be like Him - perfect! This is a giveaway that the winner needs to share with others! Love you sister!
