TTT ~ Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster

Tiggerific Tuesday Trivia_thumb

Did you know? When the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster starring Aerosmith was being built, there was a great deal of concern among Disney engineers that the nearby Twilight Zone Tower of Terror’s two elevator drops, coupled with the energy needed for the roller coaster’s launch, might actually bring down the entire Studio’s power grid! So a new electrical substation was built just to power the coaster!*

Wow, I wish the engineers who built my house in 1929 would have thought of that.  We have power outages here all the time – especially when someone tries to make toast while someone else is drying their hair!  Craziness!  I’m so glad Disney thought of that – that means that we can split into two groups and ride both rides at the same time – everyone is happy and the power stays on!  LOL

They think of everything, don't they! (And thank goodness they do!) Thanks for co-hosting!

Wow, how cool is that, Heidi! Thanks for sharing that information. Now, don't take this wrong, but I just read your post about the CoP, which is one of my favorites too, and when you talked about the power issues at your house from 1929, I instantly started picturing cords draped in your kitchen just like from the ride! Thanks for the visual!

LOL, Mike! Fortunately, it's not QUITE that bad! However, when we first bought this out, it had exactly one power outlet in each bedroom - so there were quite a few cords laying around (just not draped from the ceiling!)

:) That's good!

That is interesting! I know several other houses/ neighborhoods that need additional power grids!
